Anyone for Tea ✉️

To whom it may concern at Twinings,

I have very recently started to drink your tea due to medical reasons, my doctor has advised me that hot water settles the stomach and because I am lactose intolerant Twinings herbal and fruity selection is ideal.

I have just opened a fresh Green Tea tea bag and I couldn’t help but notice your blurb at the top of the packet that reads

‘By appointment to her majesty Queen Elizabeth II’.

Could you please explain exactly what that means? A friend of mine said that it means that the Queen drinks this very same brand of tea whereas another friend of mine said that she owns the company that makes the tea.
Is either of these explanations true?

Thank you for your time I look forward to your response.

Twinings Response

Hello Sebastian

Thank you for your interest in Twinings.

I can confirm that the fact we have the Royal Warrant means that we do supply tea to the royal household, and in fact I believe she actually has her own personal blend of tea which we make up for her.

I hope this helps!

Kind regards

My Response

Hello Kate,

Thank you for such a quick response.

It is facinating to think that The Queen drinks twinings. Do you know what is in her special brew? Have you ever thought about promotoing it as a special edtition for members of the public to buy. Days like The Queens birthday would be more than suitable for a one off promotion.

Twinings Response

Hello Sebastian

The contents of the Queen’s blend is a closely guarded secret!

However we do produce special blends relating to royal events, for example we had a wedding blend for Prince William’s wedding and a Jubilee blend for the recent jubilee.

Kind regards

Hi Kate,

Hmmmm now I am very curious as to what it could be. You reluctance to say implies to me that it could be something a little bit naughty. I remember about a decade ago they raided her palace and found some cannabis leaves in her kitchen. (see link below for details)

Is it possible that instead of making it in the home she has outsource it to yourselves to remove herself from the equation. Very clever.

Look forward to your response
