The Rant! ๐Ÿคฌ #06: Know what you want before you get to the counter.

When I am unfortunate enough to be standing in a long queue seeking service either at the bank or getting myself a delicious edible treat, I find myself asking the same question, why is this taking so long?

There are multiple reasons that can explain the problem, but the one thing that really grinds my gears are the people who finally get to the counter and still have no idea what they want. What have you been doing for the last ten minutes!

You have been standing in line for several minutes and in that time you never once thought that this would be the best opportunity for you to make your decision about the merchandise on offer!?

What annoys me more are the people that ask for items that are not even on display or have any reason to be sold from that outlet in the first place.

The last thing you want to hear when your hungry standing in a long queue in Nandos on a Friday night is some simpleton at the counter asking for pizza. Then I have to bite my tongue and listen as the shop assistant has to kindly try to explain how ridiculous their request is. Somehow the idiot customer still doesn’t understand and decides to spend the next five minutes asking dumb questions like ‘how come there is no pizza’? WTF.

The way I always thought shops worked was the merchant would display whatever merchandise he or she wanted to sell. If I like what I saw I would go in and buy it. Pretty simple concept. I don’t stand in queues hoping the vendor is going to magically pull whatever I ask for out of a hat.

Know what you want before you get to the counter, or get out the queue.
